DARWIN

A final 350km today took us up the Stuart Highway to Darwin. Drove around all the sunset viewing areas and made some carcamera images before dark. Managed to spend the evening with Peter Solness, local photographer and wife Trish.

The Stuart Highway has been the major feature of the journey so getting to Darwin concludes that part of the journey. Tomorrow we head off to Kakadu and then begin the 4000klm journey home - By the way the ol Tarago clicked over 10,000 ks for the journey thus far. Most we've paid for fuel was $1.50 a litre at Kings Canyon

  1. Hi Doug and Victoria,
Looks like you have visited some fantastic places. I do like the image of the ghost gums very much. It is somehow strangely reminiscent of Albert Namajira's paintings but the car windscreen gives the whole image a cinematic and slightly detached quality.

  2. HI there ............great images! I love the road train shot and your sunset arms-outstretched shadow ones! And I love the fact that teddy is with you, Vicky. I am taking my little Pink P.I.G away with me again this time. How time seems to have sped up - before you know it you will be home. Have a safe Taragoing journey on the home run.

  3. Gday from the bowels of TAFE corridors... must seem a lifetime ago by now and I am wondering if the Car Camera has grudgingly done a u-turn to head back or is the foot on the pedal and doing a Thelma and Louise? Well Im on holidays now too.... but you should see what we did to the department.. pink walls... purple benchtops...maybe.

Shall I pencil you in for a full photobiz presentation 1st week back? Im sure you could fill an hour with a slide show of images and then some.
    Enjoyed the images.
